Robert Half Office Team Escrow Assistant in La Quinta, California

A busy Escrow Office is looking for an Escrow Assistant. Duties of the Escrow Assistant included but are not limited to: answering phones, typing escrow instructions, reviewing and abstracting prelims, prepare est. closing statements, prep loan docs for signing, meeting funding conditions for lenders, . Keep track of the status on all the aspects of the file and any other duties. Making calls to the buyer and seller for introductions, along with the corresponding agents. Keep in contact w/agent and give weekly report as to the progress of the transaction. Prepare file for funding. Check w/lender to see the status of the loan, which will affect closing date. Balance and close file. Sign off on check/file ledger after file is balanced. Disburse checks to appropriate parties Communicate to parties when the file has closed, and when the funds are being disbursed. If necessary prepare for refund to agents, sellers, buyers etc.. The Escrow Assistant must have the ability to comprehend and write instructions, correspondence, and memos (proper punctuation, spelling, grammar). Strong interpersonal skills are required. High level of organization and strong attention to detail. Must have ability to consistently meet deadlines, demonstrate strong follow through, and to follow departmental procedures. Must be comfortable working in a fast-paced, deadline-oriented environment.
